What Greer ground is actually like
Greer is two kinds of stump work in one town: an old centre with mature street trees, and new build around it.
The Greenville and Spartanburg county line runs through the town, and the two kinds of ground sit side by side. The established centre means mature street trees on older lots. The heavy new build spreading out toward the airport and the interstate means open lots with room to work.
Getting the machine in
Depends entirely which side of town. Old Greer is gate-measurement work; the new build is open. In old Greer, measure the narrowest point on the way in, usually the gate posts, and send that number with a photo. The grinder runs on tracks and is narrow, so most yard gates are not a problem. On the new-build side there is usually room to work, and a photo of the stump and the way in is all it takes to quote.
What it costs here
The first stump on any job carries the cost of loading, travelling and setting up, and Greer is not next door to the yard in Tryon. If you have more than one stump, have them all done in one visit: each extra stump costs far less than the first.
